Welcome I would like to welcome all the previous and active members and the leaders of the Budapest Academic Choir Society with respect and esteem.
More, than 40 years, is a rather long time in our rapidly changing world. Even though that in many countries of Europe over 100 years of Choir traditions are celebrated, four decades, especially in the cultural world has a bigger and bigger value.
The choir has been in the forefront of international choir culture, ever since its foundation. Yet it always have been a special connecting force that has been the most important thing in many of our lives for years, maybe for decades. Even though that there were two setbacks in the in the choir's life - in 1980 the change of conductor, and in 1990 the involuntary need to become independent - the choir has kept the continuity of its spirit and professional level. The choir's traditions are kept by many the members who have spent decades in choirs, even in the more difficult moments of the group.
It is a heart warming feeling to see and to experience the enthusiasm and joy of singing together in the former and present members of the group.
I wish to all of us to find the same success and joy in each other for the coming years that have been always present in this choir.
